Regular cental check-ups are needed to detect and treat early tooth decay, and some harmful habits. It also helps develop a good relationship with the dental team.

MY CHILD'S MILK TEETH HAVE CAVITIES. CAN I IGNORE THEM BECAUSE THEY ARE GOING TO FALL OFF ANYWAY?

The milk teeth start to exfoliate at around 6 years of age and continue doing so until 12 years of age. Your child needs her milk teeth to chew and speak well.
Not getting milk teeth treated can lead to malnutrition, infection of teeth and gums, early loss of teeth leading to space loss, and several other problems.

WHAT IS PREVENTIVE DENTISTRY?

Preventive dentistry is the name for several dental treatments that are aimed to prevent dental diseases like cavities, malaligned teeth, and gum problems. It is something similar to a vaccination. It includes procedures like professional fluoride application, fissure sealants, and space maintainers.

MY DENTIST ADVISED A ROOT CANAL FOR MY KID'S MILK TOOTH. IS IT NEEDED?

Root canal treatment of milk teeth is also called pulpectomy. It is done when a cavity has caused an infection involving the nerves of the tooth.
This procedure removes the infected tissues and seals the tooth with a biocompatible material, so that the tooth is preserved in a painless manner until its time of exfoliation.
It may be followed by a stainless steel crown in many cases.

MY CHILD SUCKS HER THUMB. HOW CAN I HELP HER GET RID OF THE HABIT?

Harmful oral habits like thumb sucking, tongue thrusting, mouth breathing, and lip biting can cause abnormalities of the teeth and growing facial bones.
We provide customized habit-breaking appliances for such conditions so that their faces and teeth develop in a favorable manner. This reduces the need for expensive orthodontic and surgical treatment in the future.
